The bay-side marshes of the Outer Cape seem almost mysterious with their deep rivers of tidal water flowing in and out amongst the tall stands of grass. Despite the almost constant movement of the water, there's a certain silence - almost reverence - there that I hope I've captured in the colorful stillness of this painting, with its rich greens of the grass and the bright, almost white, reflection of the sea-reflected sunlight on the surface of the water.
